Film Muser
Since I watch so many movies and am constantly asked, “if I’ve seen anything good lately”, I decided to create a blog where I can post some quick and dirty reviews. I generally watch between three and five movies a week, and I hope to post a review of each of them right after the viewing. This sounds like a big commitment, but I think I can do it.
You can visit the site by going to filmmuser.com. You can also subscribe to the posts through this RSS feed, or by entering your email address here.

You never seem to dislike any movies. How can I trust your reviews?
My reviews are simply to tell you what I thought of the films, and based on what I have said I hope that it will help you make a decision whether or not to see it. Depending on the type of movie I’m watching, I know what to expect and what not to expect. If I’m seeing a Michael Bay movie, I know to expect lots of big explosions with little story. If I’m watching a movie like The Last King of Scotland I’m expecting a gripping story with no cheap tricks to try and wow me.
I think I’ve said this to you before. If I go to McDonalds I can have a very satisfying meal, but by no means will it be high quality. If I go to some downtown steakhouse, I’m expecting to be satisfied, as well as have an incredible dining experience.
And there are movies that I dislike. For example, I consider Wolf Creek and Rumor Has It to be two of the worst movies of all time.
My concern is if I am short on time and I decide to use filmmuser.com to make my viewing choice and reference your rating system (#/5) without reading the description then there will be no way to distinguish between Mcdonalds and the steakhouse (using your analogy).
McDonalds style movies will never get a high rating, so the number should still give you a good indication. I just generally can find enjoyment in these style of movies.
Speaking from a recent conversation we had, I enjoyed The Fast and the Furious, but I’d never give it the same type of rating as The Last King of Scotland. I would likely give that one a 2.5 / 5.
